Is Power Home Remodeling expensive?

A knock on the door
A Power Home Remodeling rep spent about five hours in her home and pitched a $66,000 package: front door, solar panels, and the roof.
She signed at 2 AM
The visit ran to 2 AM, and she signed that night. Then she stayed up until 4 AM reading the paperwork.
The loan listed her house as collateral
Nobody had explained that. When she moved to cancel, she says, the paperwork was hard to complete and the price dropped to $21,000. She canceled anyway.
A $12,680 roof at 0%
We replaced her roof in August 2026: new shingles, plus fascia, plywood, and trim boards where the decking needed it. Financed through Synchrony at 0%, unsecured. No lien on her house.
Sandra isn’t the only one.
“I went to their website and got a quote online in maybe two minutes. No one had to come out to my house, no appointment, no sales pitch. The price came back lower than the other roofers I had reached out to, and it wasn’t close.”

Power Home Remodeling reviews: Google, BBB record and complaints
Power Home Remodeling is a national home remodeling company founded in 1992, now owned by private equity firms Ardian and Harvest Partners. They have 4.5 stars on Google from 579 San Antonio reviews and are BBB-accredited with an A+ rating locally. Nationally, 878 BBB complaints have been filed in the last 3 years. Among San Antonio Google reviews, recurring complaints include multi-hour high-pressure sales presentations, ignoring no-soliciting signs, and dramatically inflated quotes — one homeowner was quoted $50,000 for a roof that cost $14,000 elsewhere, another $40,000 for an elderly parent’s roof.
We take a different approach: no sales team, no commissions, no corporate overhead. Just your price, upfront, in 2 minutes.

Where Your Money Goes
Typical cost breakdown for a San Antonio roof replacement
Materials and labor are identical. The difference is everything else.
Save Thousands
*Approximate cost breakdown based on industry averages for large roofing companies vs. independent local contractors.
Private equity overhead
Owned by Ardian and Harvest Partners since 2022 (~$1.12B investment). That corporate structure — 25+ offices, ~4,000 employees, executive layers — adds cost that a single-owner company doesn’t carry.
Door-to-door sales force
Commission-only sales reps canvass neighborhoods and run 2–5 hour in-home presentations. Employee reviews report 50%+ turnover. We have zero salespeople — you see your price online.
“Today only” pricing
Customers report high initial quotes with steep discounts if you sign the same day. That inflated starting price funds the sales model. We show one price, upfront, every time.
Same shingle brands, different price
Same shingle brands, same manufacturer warranties. The difference in price is everything else — sales teams, corporate offices, and overhead that has nothing to do with your roof.
With Roof Direct San Antonio, your price is based on your roof size, not your zip code, not a sales commission, not whether you have an insurance claim. See your exact price in 2 minutes.
