Shane isn’t the only one.
“Got three quotes for a roof replacement in San Antonio and Roof Direct came in almost $9,000 under the highest one and about $6,000 under the next. Same Owens Corning Duration shingles the bigger companies quoted, just no commissioned salesman markup baked in.”

Read all our reviews. 5 stars across the boardRhino Roofers prices: the identical shingle, $7,845 apart
In August 2026 a second homeowner brought us a Rhino Roofers quote. This one removes every variable: both companies quoted the exact same shingle, Owens Corning Duration Storm, Class 4 impact-resistant. Rhino’s written quote came to $21,045.66. Our signed contract for the same Stone Oak home, a 3,002 sq ft two-story: $13,200. Same manufacturer, same shingle line, same impact rating.

The identical product, not a comparable one
Both quotes specify Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration Storm, Class 4 impact-resistant, and both companies are certified Owens Corning contractors. The shingle on the roof would have been identical either way. The $7,845.66 difference is overhead.
Decking repairs
Rhino’s proposal includes no decking (the wood underneath your shingles). It appears only on their change-order page, at $109.89 per sheet. Our contract includes the first 3 sheets at no charge, then $85 per sheet.
Who backs the workmanship warranty
The lifetime workmanship warranty in Rhino’s proposal is backed by Rhino, a company founded in 2020. Our roofs carry workmanship coverage backed by Owens Corning itself: 10 years from the manufacturer, on top of the 50-year non-prorated product warranty. That coverage stands on a Fortune 500 company with roughly $10 billion in annual sales, not on any one contractor staying in business.
The $1,903 solar attic fan
Rhino’s suggested upgrade prices a 35-watt Attic Breeze self-flashing solar attic fan at $1,903.29. The same unit sells online for about $925, and a self-flashing fan is at its cheapest to install while the roof is already open.

Rhino Roofers reviews: Google, BBB record and complaints
Rhino Roofers is a legitimate, well-reviewed company. The difference is overhead, not quality. They’ve been BBB-accredited since 2023 with strong Google reviews, though 3 BBB complaints have been closed in the last 3 years. They were founded in 2020 and have grown quickly in the San Antonio market. Rhino uses subcontractors for installation and employs commission-based sales representatives, costs that are built into every quote.
We take a different approach: no sales team, no commissions, no corporate overhead. Just your price, upfront, in 2 minutes.
Rhino Roofers pricing
What you're actually paying for, and what we eliminated.
Where Your Money Goes
Based on a typical 2,500 sq ft San Antonio roof
Materials and labor are identical. The difference is everything else.
Typical savings: ~$7,750
Two documented Rhino Roofers quotes in 2026: $23,590.46 and $21,045.66, which came in $9,433 and $7,845 above our prices for the same-class roofs. See the contracts above.
Sales team commissions
Rhino Roofers employs commission-based sales consultants. That cost gets built into every roof quote. We don’t have salespeople. You get your price online.
TV and radio advertising
Rhino Roofers runs TV ads, billboards, and radio spots. That advertising budget gets factored into their pricing. We spend zero on advertising. The savings go to you.
Same shingles, different price
Both companies install the same major shingle brands with manufacturer-backed warranties. The shingles on your roof are identical. The only difference is what you pay.
Corporate overhead
Rhino has showroom costs, branded fleet, and management layers. We’re one owner, one location, same crews since 2009. No franchise fees, no corporate overhead.
With Roof Direct San Antonio, your price is based on your roof size, not your zip code, not a sales commission, not whether you have an insurance claim. See your exact price in 2 minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers. No sales pitch.
Two homeowners with Rhino Roofers quotes are documented above. One had signed at $23,590 and canceled after finding this page. The same Class 4 roof came to $14,157 with us. The second brought Rhino’s $21,045.66 quote for the identical Duration Storm shingle we installed for $13,200.
If your Rhino Roofers quote is competitive, ours will confirm that. If there’s a significant gap, you’ll want to know about it before you sign.
That’s exactly what the homeowner in the case study above did: he signed Rhino Roofers’ contract on June 26, found this page the next day, canceled in time, and saved $9,433.46 on the same Class 4 roof.

We don’t have any of those expenses. Our pricing reflects the actual cost of materials, experienced labor, and a fair margin. That’s it.
Your warranty comes from the shingle manufacturer: Owens Corning, GAF, the same brands everyone uses. Same coverage, same protection, whether you pay us or anyone else.
We offer everything from 25-year to lifetime warranties depending on the shingle line you choose. The warranty protects your roof the same way regardless of what you paid for installation.
The difference between us is overhead, not legitimacy: on two documented 2026 quotes for the same roofs, their prices came in $9,433 and $7,845 above ours. Scroll up, look at both sets of documents, and decide with the numbers in front of you.
Important note: Texas does not require a state roofing license. The TDLR does not regulate roofing contractors. Any company implying they have a “state license” is misleading you.
We’ve been serving San Antonio since 2009.
We cut commissioned salespeople, TV advertising, and showroom overhead, not materials or labor. Those costs were never part of your roof anyway.
Every dollar we don’t spend on advertising is a dollar you don’t pay on your roof. Our customers find us through referrals, online comparisons, and neighbors who saved thousands.
